The statewide non-profit Maine Farmland Trust (MFT) created this gallery because we believe in farming, and because we are committed to its future. Our vision is of a gallery that captures the vibrancy of Maine’s farms and farmers, the intimate relationship to the earth and animals they tend – a gallery which celebrates agriculture through art.
Founded in 2008, our gallery has increasingly become known as “a gallery with a mission.” It has attracted artists from all over Maine and beyond, who share a love for our rural heritage, farming’s future and the earth’s well-being. We hope that through this gallery, more people will come to understand the promise of farming, and as a result, lend fervent support to our efforts to secure Maine’s agricultural future.
Any piece of art purchased through Maine Farmland Trust Gallery results in at least a 40% donation to MFT’s programs, which protect farmland, support beginning and established farmers, and increase access to local, healthy foods, while the rest supports the local artist. A purchase of art that was donated to MFT results in a 100% donation to MFT’s programs. Buy art and support Maine’s local farms and food!
